The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the results of the first-ever Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private candidates (WAEC GCE), 2024 1st series.
Before we provide the instructions on how to check your results, here is a break down of performance analysis showed that out of the 8,139 candidates that sat the WAEC GCE (2024), 3,424 candidates representing 42.07% obtained credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects with or without English Language and/or Mathematics. 2,519 candidates representing 30.95% obtained credit and above in a minimum of 5 subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
The examination body further noted that the results of 65 candidates, representing 0.80 per cent of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, are being withheld for various reported cases of examination malpractice.
The Council admitted that the CBT examination method for WASSCE “drastically reduced examination malpractices”, when compared to reported cases of 413 candidates (4.95 per cent) recorded for WASSCE for private candidates in the 2023-first series. Meanwhile, candidates whose results are being held/withheld can apply for redress by visiting https://waecinternational.org/complaints to register their complaints.

- Log on to https://www.waecdirect.org/
- Enter Examination number
- Select Examination year as 2024
- Select Examination type as PRIVATE CANDIDATES
- Enter your PIN and serial number (if you don’t have a checker pin and serial number, get it here)
- Then click on submit to view your results
