Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has terminated the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of University of Abuja, UNIABUJA, (now Yakubu Gowon University), Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi.
Professor Lar Patricia Manko has been appointed as Acting Vice Chancellor at UNIABUJA for a six-month term. She will not be eligible to apply for the substantive Vice Chancellor position when it becomes available.
President Tinubu also changed the Pro-Chancellors of the two universities as well as the Pro-chancellors of UNIUYO, FULOKOJA, Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and UNIZIK.
It was stated that all appointments and reassignment decisions are effective immediately and that these changes reflect the administration’s commitment to revitalising Nigeria’s higher education system through dynamic leadership and accountability.
