The Gombe State Scholarship Board has issued a disclaimer warning students and the general public against a fake circular circulating on social media concerning the 2025/2026 scholarship registration exercise.
The Board clarified that the circular did not originate from its office and urged all Gombe State indigenes studying in various institutions of higher learning across the country to disregard the misleading information.
Previous Scholarship Applicants Should Not Register Again
According to the Board, students who registered during the 2025 scholarship registration exercise are not required to register again for the 2025/2026 academic session. Their existing registration remains valid throughout the duration of their studies.
The Board emphasized that the current scholarship registration exercise is intended only for the following categories of students:
- Gombe State indigenes who did not register during the previous scholarship exercise but are still in school for the 2025/2026 academic session.
- Newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Board further clarified that the ongoing registration is not an extension of the previous registration exercise. Therefore, eligible students who have not registered before are advised to follow only official information released by the Board.
Gombe Scholarship Board Announces Verification Exercise
The Gombe State Scholarship Board also announced that it would conduct a verification exercise in due course to confirm the authenticity of students’ registrations.
The Board warned that any student found to have completed multiple registrations would be disqualified from the scholarship exercise.
Students are therefore advised to provide accurate information and avoid registering more than once, as duplicate registrations could affect their eligibility for the scholarship.
Advice to Gombe State Students
The Board urged all eligible students and members of the general public to take note of the disclaimer and avoid acting on unverified scholarship announcements circulating on social media.
Students seeking information about the 2025/2026 Gombe State scholarship registration should rely on official announcements from the Gombe State Scholarship Board to avoid falling victim to false information.
The disclaimer was signed by Shuaibu Gidado, for the Director/Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Scholarship Board.
Important Notice: Students who registered during the 2025 scholarship exercise should not register again. The current exercise is for eligible students who did not register previously and new intakes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
