The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
According to the Head of the Nigeria National Office, Dr. Amos Dangut, 1,834,695 of the 1,950,726 candidates who sat the examination in Nigeria, representing 94.05%, had their results fully processed and released. He added that 116,031 candidates (5.95%) still have one or more subjects being processed, assuring them that the outstanding results would be released within the next few days.
On candidates’ performance, Dangut disclosed that 1,687,378 candidates (86.50%) obtained credit passes in at least five subjects, with or without English Language and Mathematics, while 1,200,514 candidates (61.54%) earned credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The release comes a few days after WAEC postponed the publication of the results beyond its earlier scheduled date due to operational reasons.
