The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) invites all candidates who selected FUTO as their First Choice University in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry (DE) to apply for the Post-UTME/DE Screening Exercise. See full details and requirements below:
1. Application Period
- Start Date: Wednesday, July 23, 2025
- Deadline: Sunday, August 31, 2025
2. Eligibility Criteria
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025.
- UTME Score: Minimum score of 150 in the 2025 UTME.
- JAMB Subject Combination: Must match the JAMB brochure requirements for the chosen course.
- Change of Institution: Candidates who did not choose FUTO as first choice but scored 150 or above may apply after changing to FUTO via the JAMB CAPS portal.
- O’Level Requirements: At least five (5) credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.
- For MBBS, credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in one sitting only are required.

4. Direct Entry Requirements
Candidates must possess any of the following in relevant disciplines:
- OND/HND
- A’ Level passes
- First Degree
5. Application Fee
- ₦2,000.00 only, payable via Remita
6. Nature of Screening
- Screening is based on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on JAMB CAPS.
7. Important Information
- Ensure all JAMB CAPS details match your FUTO application (e.g., JAMB Reg. Number, Date of Birth, State of Origin).
- Use a valid email address and phone number.
- Upload your O’Level results to JAMB CAPS by August 24, 2025. After uploading, click “Refresh” on CAPS to confirm.
- Only candidates who complete and submit their application will be considered.
- Late registration will not be accepted.
For Direct Entry Candidates:
- Ensure your Academic Transcript is sent to:

- Failure to submit the transcript will lead to disqualification

- Click “Generate Invoice”
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number to create a Remita payment invoice
- Pay online via ATM Card or at any bank
- Return to: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate
- Click “Application Form”, enter JAMB Reg. Number and Login
- Fill out the form correctly
- Review your details
- Submit your application (only complete upon clicking “Submit”)
- Print your Acknowledgement Slip
- Await further instructions from the University
