The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that registration for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates – Second Series is now open. The registration fee is ₦27,000, and all intending candidates are encouraged to read this guide carefully to complete their registration successfully.
Registration Process
- Registration is online only via www.waeconline.org.ng using a purchased Registration PIN.
- The process includes biometric data capture for identity verification at examination centres.
- All candidates are encouraged to practice with WAEC Past Questions (Objective & Theory) and the Osilight WAEC CBT Software or Mobile App to get familiar with the new Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

- Passport photo: JPEG, 275×314 pixels, 72 dpi, plain contrasting background, no obstructions.
Exam Format
- Objective papers: Fully CBT.
- Essay & Practical: Hybrid — questions on screen, answers written on paper.
- An online mock test will be available; details will be sent via SMS, email, and social media.
Rules & Regulations
- No refunds after payment.
- No mobile phones or electronic devices in the exam hall.
- Dress in mufti — no uniforms allowed.
- No smoking in exam halls.
- Results will be cancelled for:
- Multiple centre attendance
- Exam malpractice (with possible prosecution)
