The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially commenced registration for the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External (Nov/Dec GCE). This year’s edition will be Computer-Based (CBE) and cover 16 subjects.
🗓️ Important Dates
- Registration Begins: 7th July 2025
- Registration Ends: 18th November 2025 (Midnight)
- Late Registration: 19th – 25th November 2025 (₦5,000 extra fee)
- Exam Period: 26th November – 13th December 2025
- Walk-in Registration Fee: ₦43,000 (Not less than 3 hours to intended paper)
📝 Registration Guide
Registration can be done both online and offline:
- Visit www.neco.gov.ng
- Create an account with email or phone number.
- Purchase registration quota and complete biometric capture at a reputable cybercafé.
- Provide a passport photo (white background, not older than 6 months).
- Input your NIN (National Identification Number) – compulsory.
- Biometric fingerprint capture is mandatory and will be verified during the exam.

- Standard Fee: ₦30,000

- Waterproof Certificate Jacket
- Stamp Duty & Service Charges apply

🧾 After Registration
Upon completion, each candidate must obtain:
- Exam Timetable
- Photocard (with clear passport).
This photocard is required for entry into the exam hall and must be stamped by a recognized authority such as:- A school principal
- Clergy/Imam
- Senior civil servant (GL 14+)
- Armed forces officer (not below Captain)
- Legal practitioner (10+ years)
🚫 Candidates no longer need to submit the photocard to NECO state offices.
♿ Candidates with Special Needs
Must register like others but indicate their specific needs accurately in the bio-data section.

- Exam is fully Computer-Based (CBE)
- Walk-in candidates can register up to 3 hours before any paper.
- No edits to exam centres after upload.
- Only one-time correction is allowed post-registration.
- Multiple registrations will be cancelled
- Exam Rules: No mobile phones, smart devices, calculators, or armed dress. Mufti only.
- NIN & photo will appear on certificates
