The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the minimum cut-off marks for admission into Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and Colleges of Nursing for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The announcement was made during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held on May 11, 2026, with key stakeholders in attendance, including the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, vice-chancellors, rectors, registrars, and other education stakeholders across the country.
2026 JAMB Minimum Cut-Off Marks for Admission
Below are the officially approved JAMB minimum admissible scores for the 2026/2027 admission exercise:
- Universities: 150
- Colleges of Nursing Sciences: 150
- Polytechnics: 100
- Colleges of Education/Agriculture: No UTME Score Required
This means that candidates seeking admission into NCE programmes and Agriculture-related non-engineering courses may no longer be required to present UTME scores for admission consideration.
Important Notice to Candidates
Candidates should note that the scores listed above are the minimum cut-off marks approved by JAMB. However, individual institutions are allowed to set higher cut-off marks for their admission processes.
In other words:
- No institution is permitted to admit candidates below the approved minimum score.
- Schools can decide to use higher departmental or general cut-off marks depending on competition and available admission slots.
