📅 Examination Timeline
The 2026 CB-WASSCE (Private Candidates – First Series) was conducted nationwide from Wednesday, January 28 to Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Marking and coordination of scripts took place at designated centres in:
- Lagos
- Enugu
- Kaduna
This process lasted from February 26 to March 13, 2026.

- Total Registered Candidates: 10,523
- 2025 Comparison: 9,438 candidates (+11.49% increase)

- Male: 5,106 (48.72%)

Out of the total registered candidates:
- 10,480 candidates sat for the exam
- Conducted across 166 centres nationwide
🎯 Performance Analysis
According to WAEC spokesperson Adesina:
- 3,429 candidates (32.72%) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics
- This marks a 5.76% improvement compared to the 26.96% pass rate in 2025
♿ Inclusion of Candidates with Special Needs
A total of 43 candidates with special needs participated in the examination:
- 11 visually impaired candidates
- 4 with hearing impairments
- 4 albinos
WAEC confirmed that adequate support was provided during the examination.
📌 Results Processing & Withheld Cases
- 8,418 candidates (80.32%) have their results fully released
- 2,062 candidates have pending results due to candidate-related errors
- 75 candidates (0.72%) had their results withheld over alleged examination malpractice
WAEC noted that investigations are ongoing, and affected candidates will be notified after review.
