UNIJOS Vice-Chancellor’s social media account has been hacked

Public Notice: Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos’ LinkedIn Account Hacked

This is to inform members of the general public that the official LinkedIn account belonging to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako, has been compromised by unknown individuals.

Members of the public, particularly active users of social media platforms, are strongly advised to exercise caution and disregard any messages, solicitations, or requests originating from any LinkedIn account or other social media platforms purporting to represent Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the perpetrators may be impersonating the Vice-Chancellor with the intent to deceive or defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

Professor Maimako has since taken all necessary steps to secure his digital presence. The compromised account has been blocked, and the incident has been formally reported to the administrators of the LinkedIn platform in line with established protocols.

The University of Jos urges the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious communication linked to this incident.
