FUTO Post-UTME 2026: Cut off mark, Eligibility and Registration Procedures

Applications are hereby invited from suitable qualified candidates with 2026 UTME Results to apply for admissions into the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Eligibility
Candidates who:

 applied to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for 2026 undergraduate admission;

    ii.        chose the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as the university of First Choice; and

Sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or applied for Direct Entry (DE) admission;

are hereby invited to the Screening Exercise for 2026 undergraduate admission.

The following conditions shall apply.

1.   Application commences on Friday May 22, 2026, and closes on Friday July 31, 2026.

2.   ONLY candidates that are at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are ELIGIBLE to apply.

3.   ONLY candidates that scored a minimum of 150 in their UTME are ELIGIBLE to apply.

4.   Each candidate must ensure that his/her JAMB subject combination is as prescribed in the JAMB brochure for the programme applied for.

5.   Candidates who did not choose FUTO as the university of First Choice but scored a minimum of 150 can also apply on the condition that they visit JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and change to FUTO on or before July 31, 2026.

6.   Only candidates with at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, and three other relevant O’Level subjects (depending on the programme) at not more than two sittings are eligible to apply. Candidates for the MBBS programme must have at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at ONE SITTING.

8. Direct Entry candidates must be holders of A‘Level in relevant subjects or OND/HND/First Degree in relevant disciplines.

9.   Mode of Payment and Registration Procedure

Eligible candidates are required to pay an application fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2, 000.00).

10.    Nature of the Screening Exercise

The 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise shall be based on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

11.     Important Notices

a.   Ensure that your details on JAMB CAPS match what you have on the Post-UTME application portal. For instance, ensure that you use your correct JAMB Registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc. for application.

b.   Only candidates whose departments of choice on JAMB CAPS are the same as on Post-UTME application will be considered for admission.

c.   Candidates must provide their valid mobile number and functional e-mail address for further communication.

d.   Candidates must upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS, NOT LATER THAN August 17, 2026.

e.   ONLY candidates who successfully submit applications and upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS on or before the given deadline will be considered for admission.

f.     FOR DIRECT ENTRY CANDIDATES

In addition to 11a-e:

            i.    Ensure that your certificate is verified by the awarding institution on JAMB CAPS.

      ii.    Ensure that your academic transcript reaches The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Owerri, Imo State, NOT LATER THAN August 17, 2026.

         iii.    Only candidates whose academic transcripts reach The Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Owerri, Imo State on before the stipulated date will be considered for admission.

12.        To register, follow these steps:

a.    (i) Visit the University website: www.futo.edu.ngClick on “Prospective Students” then Click on “Undergraduate

OR

(ii) Use this link: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate

b.   Click on “Generate invoice

c.    Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate Payment Invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).

d.   Proceed to any Bank with the payment invoice OR simply pay with your ATM Card.

e.   Return to the Application portal: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/#undergraduate

f.     Click on “Application Form

g.   Enter your JAMB Registration number and click on “Login”.

h.   Proceed with the completion of the form.

i.     Correctly enter all your details as required.

j.     Confirm your entries.

k.    Submit your application (Note that your application is COMPLETED only when you click “Submit”).

l.     Print out your acknowledgement slip.

m. Await further communication from the University.
