Imo State University has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for eligible candidates seeking admission into the institution.
According to the management of IMSU, registration for the screening exercise will begin on Monday, 25th May 2026.
Candidates who selected IMSU as their first-choice institution and meet the required cut-off mark are invited to apply before the deadline.
IMSU Post UTME 2026/2027 Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the IMSU Post UTME screening exercise, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Candidates must have chosen Imo State University as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME.
- Applicants must have scored a minimum of 160 in the UTME examination.
- Candidates who did not initially choose IMSU as first choice but scored 160 and above can still apply after changing their institution to IMSU on the official JAMB Portal before the application deadline.
- Direct Entry candidates must possess any of the following:
- OND
- HND
- First Degree
- A’ Level certificates or equivalent qualifications in relevant subjects.
- All candidates are required to upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS.
- Candidates awaiting WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results are also advised to upload their results immediately after release to avoid disqualification from admission consideration.
How to Apply for IMSU Post UTME/Direct Entry Form 2026/2027
Follow the steps below to complete your application successfully:
Step 1: Visit the IMSU Portal
Go to the official IMSU admission portal:
Click on “2026/2027 POST-UTME/Direct Entry Application.”
Step 2: Check Eligibility
Enter your correct JAMB Registration Number to confirm your eligibility status.
Step 3: Make Payment
Eligible candidates should proceed to make a non-refundable payment of ₦2,000.
- Use your JAMB Registration Number as the Invoice Number.
- Generate and print your payment receipt after payment.
Step 4: Complete the Application Form
After 24 hours of payment:
- Return to the IMSU portal.
- Click again on the Post-UTME/Direct Entry application link.
- Complete and submit the online application form.
Candidates are encouraged to use the IMSU Microfinance Bank for easier processing.
Step 5: Print Acknowledgement Slip
Print the acknowledgement slip and keep it safe, as it will be required during the screening exercise.
IMSU Aptitude Test / Screening Date
The university management stated that the official screening date and examination schedule for candidates will be communicated later.
Applicants are advised to regularly check the IMSU portal for updates regarding the aptitude test and admission process.
