The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates – Second Series.

The registration fee for the 2025 WAEC GCE (Second Series) is:
- ₦27,000 (Twenty-Seven Thousand Naira only) per candidate.
- An additional ₦500 commission is payable to banks or accredited agents.
- Walk-in-Candidates (late registration) will pay ₦45,000 only.

- Registration Start Date: Monday, June 9, 2025
- Closing Date for PIN Generation: Friday, August 22, 2025
- Final Deadline for Registration and Biometric Capture: Sunday, August 24, 2025 (11:59pm)
All candidates must complete their online registration and biometric capture before the deadline.
How to Register for WAEC GCE 2025 (Second Series)
Step 1: Purchase PIN
Candidates should purchase their Registration PIN from any of the approved banks, accredited agents, or cashless payment providers.
Step 2: Online Registration
- Log on to 👉 www.waeconline.org.ng.
- Select the WASSCE for Private Candidates (Second Series).
- Enter your Registration PIN and begin your application.
- Complete all required details, including personal bio-data and subject selection.
- Capture biometric features (fingerprints) using the recommended fingerprint scanner.
- Print out your Admission Notice/Photo Card which will also contain your Result Checker PIN.
Requirements for Registration
- Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits in relevant subjects.
- Valid email address and phone number.
- Correct passport photograph (JPEG format, 275 × 314 pixels, plain contrasting background).

Walk-in-Candidates
- For candidates who missed the normal registration period, WAEC provides a Walk-in option.

Candidates with Special Needs
WAEC accommodates candidates with impairments such as:
- Visual impairment
- Low vision
- Spastic conditions

Examination Format
For the first time, WAEC will conduct the examination using Computer-Based Testing (CBT):
- Objective Papers: Fully CBT.
- Essay & Practical Papers: Hybrid format (questions on-screen, answers written on paper).
- A Mock CBT Examination will be organized for interested candidates before the main exams. Date and details will be communicated via SMS, email, and social media.
General Rules and Regulations
- Multiple Registration: The entire result of candidates who register in more than one centre will be cancelled.
